Hospital Owner Claims Nurses Framed Him for Rape

Testifying in court, Adeniran recounted how he established the hospital in 2021 to help people by subsidizing their medical bills

Prophet Adeyemi Adeniran, owner of Adeniran Hospital in Ido-Osun, Osun State, has alleged that four nurses he employed framed him for rape to cover up a N3 million fraud.

Adeniran, who is also the General Overseer of Great Tabernacle Miracle Church of God, pleaded not guilty to a 12-count charge of sexual exploitation, deceit, and trafficking in persons brought by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). He was arraigned on January 14, 2024, before the Federal High Court in Osogbo, Osun State.

Testifying in court, Adeniran recounted how he established the hospital in 2021 to help people by subsidizing their medical bills. He claimed that during an inspection, he discovered that medical equipment and drugs worth N3 million had been sold by his staff.

"I employed some of my church members in the hospital and paid them good salaries. However, when I went to the hospital for inspection, I discovered that most of the medical equipment, including drugs worth N3 million, had been sold by my staff. I queried the matron of the hospital about it, and she spoke to me disrespectfully, so I left in anger," Adeniran said.

He instructed his head of security to lock the hospital, deciding he no longer wanted to run it. The next day, the matron allegedly threatened him, demanding N25 million or she would blackmail him. Soon after, allegations of rape surfaced against him from four nurses: Olorunlanbe Easter, Dorcas Ajiboye, Bukky Ojolo, and Nafisat. Adeniran claims these accusations were fabricated to cover up the fraud.

Under cross-examination, Adeniran stated he had photographic evidence of the sold equipment and drugs and proof of the matron's demand for N25 million.

Justice Nathaniel Ayo-Emmanuel adjourned the case to September 23, 2024, for continuation of the hearing.
