Hit-and-Run Driver Injures Two on Lagos-Badagry Expressway

A hit-and-run vehicle has injured two pedestrians, a man and a woman, on the Badagry end of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway on Thursday night leaving both of them hospitalized.

Mr. William Manga, the Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Badagry Unit, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Badagry on Friday said that the accident occurred at about 8:20 p.m.

He stated that the command arrived at the scene at 8.30 p.m., having received information of the accident at 8.25 p.m.

According to him, the accident happened at the car wash on the Badagry Expressway's Itoga Junction axis. There was an unidentified driver involved. The victims had fractures and varied degrees of injuries.

The victims were sent to the General Hospital's Emergency Unit in Badagry, according to Manga, for medical attention. He said that N6,980 was recovered from the victims.

The unit commander advised pedestrians to exercise greater caution when crossing highways.

Manga urged drivers to abide by all road laws and regulations, including speed restrictions.
