Sheikh Aminu Daurawa, Commander-General of the Kano State Hisbah Board announced that the next batch of the state's mass wedding plan would include 50 slots reserved for journalists and media professionals.

According to Daurawa, the project seeks to extend the program's advantages to media members and other professional organisations.

Sheikh Daurawa emphasised the accomplishments of the previous round of mass weddings, in which 1,800 marriages were consummated, in an interview with journalists on Wednesday.

The Hisbah chief stated that the board chose to broaden the initiative to include interested parties from a variety of professional disciplines, including journalism, law, and healthcare, in light of this success.

Sheikh Daurawa clarified that the goal of the state's mass wedding programme was to reduce immorality among young men and women and to advance moral values in society.

The board wants to encourage people who are looking to get married and build community links by bringing in additional professionals.

Sheikh Daurawa also revealed the creation of the Hisbah Academy in association with local establishments including Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano (YUMSUK), Aminu Kano College of Islamic Legal Studies, and Sa'adatu Rimi University of Education. These announcements were made in addition to the expanded mass wedding programme.

He emphasised that graduates of the academy, which would provide official education and training in Hisbah work, will receive diplomas.

The Hisbah Academy seeks to support the board's objective of preserving law and order in Kano State by providing students with information and abilities pertinent to Hisbah operations.

On the other hand, Daurawa omitted to specify when the second part of the mass wedding would start.
