Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has pleaded with dissatisfied Nigerians, specifically the youths who are preparing a national protest over the high cost of living, to suspend the planned action, stating that there is no need for it.

Tinubu also promised those behind the intended national protest that he has heard their frustration and is working earnestly to make sure that all their concerns are handled.

Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation, announced the president’s plea while speaking with State House correspondents after his meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Idris affirmed that at the meeting with the President, general problems in the country were talked about, and the President noted that he was working diligently to make sure that the country’s economy is placed in a good position.

The minister said, "We deliberated on the issue of the country in general, and President Tinubu has asked me to again notify Nigerians that he listens to them, specifically the young people that are planning to protest.

“President Tinubu said he pays attention to them and takes what they say seriously, and he is working diligently to make sure that this country is good not just for today but also for the future.

“On the issue of the intended protest, Mr. President, does not see any need for that. He has asked them to suspend that plan, and to await the government’s response to all their pleas; he has listened to them.
