Gunmen kill Edo Assembly Speaker’s aide, Omoarebokhae
It was gathered that unknown gunmen have killed Samson Omoarebokhae, a senior special assistant to, Blessing Agbebaku, the Speaker of the Edo House of Assembly.
This was revealed in Benin on Monday by the Special Adviser to the Speaker on Media, Mrs. Ivy Adodo-Ebojele.
She announced that the Speaker had sent a condolence message to the family of the murdered aide.
According to Adodo-Ebojele, Omoarebokhae was killed on August 31 while en route Uhumora from Ozalla in Owan West Local Government of Edo State.
The media aide said that when the Speaker heard about the incident, he quickly sent a group of people to visit the deceased's family and offer condolences.
Adodo-Ebojele noted that a team was led by the Chief of Staff to the Edo Speaker, Odion Iruobe, described his death as a big loss for the Assembly, the PDP, and the people of Owan West Local Government.
She said that the Chief of Staff encouraged the bereaved family to find comfort in God’s promises of not leaving those mourning comfortless.
She said the Speaker promised to do everything within his power to find and apprehend those who murdered Samson Omoarebokhae and make them face justice.
Adodo-Ebojele added, We pray that God will give peace to the soul of the deceased and help the family to cope with his loss.
Commenting on behalf of the family Elijah Omoarebokhai, a brother of the deceased, appreciated the Speaker on behalf of the family for sending a team to offer their condolences during their time of grief.
