The Kaduna State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a gunman found in possession of a complimentary card belonging to a Nigerian Army Brigadier General. The suspect was apprehended with the card and other items, including a bank ATM card, which led to suspicions of armed robbery.

This information was disclosed in a press release issued by the Police Command's spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, on Tuesday in Kaduna. According to ASP Mansir Hassan, the arrest of the suspect marks a significant step forward in law enforcement activities.

During the arrest, the man was found with his operational weapon, an AK47 rifle, which was later retrieved by the police. The success of the operation was attributed to the swift action of police operatives, who acted on solid intelligence provided by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Maraban Jos Division.

In the arrest of the suspect, an intelligence report received on March 24, 2024, at approximately 20:30 hours played an essential role. The suspect, identified as Salim Aliyu, a 22-year-old resident of Badarawa Kwaru in Kaduna North, Kaduna State, was found with an AK47 weapon and three live rounds of ammunition.

In addition to the weapon, the suspect was found to have a Nigerian Immigration Service camouflage singlet and face cap, a sharp knife, a flier, a desert purse, and a wallet with a First Bank ATM card and the aforementioned complimentary card.
