Governor Nwifuru Announces ₦150,000 Christmas Bonus for Workers
Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has announced a Christmas bonus of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦150,000) for every state worker.
Governor Francis Nwifuru announced the Christmas Bonus at a banquet in honor of the visiting British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Gill Lever, at Government House in Abakaliki.
The governor stated that the gesture is in honor of the dedication of workers in the state to duty and understanding during the recent strike action called by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.
This was disclosed via a Facebook post on Thursday by Monday Uzor, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
He noted that the workers would be getting the bonus before 1 pm on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
“Every worker in Ebonyi State service will receive ₦150,000 as a Christmas bonus before 1 pm on Tuesday… Gov. Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru,” says the post.
This demonstrates Governor Nwifuru’s dedication to workers’ welfare, especially considering the last year’s bonus of ₦100,000.
However, the state government has started full execution of the new minimum wage act exceeding ₦70,000 with an additional ₦5,000 for Ebonyi workers, as it reaffirms its consistency in enhancing workers’ welfare.
