Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has ordered security agencies to ensure the immediate release of three schoolchildren of the same parents stolen by a motorcycle operator last week at Ikwuano.
The Commissioner for Information Prince Okey Kanu, who addressed journalists at the outcome of the state’s Executive Council meeting, hinted that the governor conveyed grief over the disturbing incident. He said, Governor Otti had personally called the parents of the victims and promised them that the state would not abandon them.
Kanu said the governor instructed security agencies to fish out the cyclist, and rescue the missing kids.
It was gathered that the school kids visited their grandmother on their way from school, and she requested the services of the cyclist to take them home.
The cyclist fled with the kids, and their whereabouts is not yet been known since then.
