Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has called for calm in the state after clashes between soldiers and police in Adamawa State.

Now that things are under control, Fintiri asked everyone to carry on with their daily activities.

He described Tuesday night's altercation between the two security agencies as unfortunate.

The incident was deemed unacceptable by the governor, who urged security agencies to exercise patience, saying that “at this time of peace is more cherished in the state."

In order to maintain the state's general tranquility, he pleaded with all parties concerned to use caution.

Governor Fintiri asked all special assignment security personnel to stay at their assigned posts and behave in a mature manner.

“I am concerned that such acrimony could have lasting consequences on the hard-earned peace we have been able to build over the years.”

“I appeal to all security personnel for restraint, mutual respect and tolerance for one another as people destined to work together in this great State.

“I appeal for patience and understanding as the administration works towards lasting solutions to these conflicts”, a statement by Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Humwashi Wonosikou, added.
