FRSC Vows to Curb Accidents in Anambra
The Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra State has affirmed its dedication towards reducing road accidents by increasing visibility and enforcing traffic laws more strictly in the state.
This was revealed by the sector Commander, Joyce Alexander during a press briefing in Awka, the state capital on Thursday.
Alexander hinted that the exercise was to ensure Strict adherence with traffic rules and safer roads.
She stressed the need for persists awareness and smooth imposition of road safety to achieve the policy thrust of the new Corps Marshall in achieving zero tolerance for road crashes.
She said, “I aim to increase the visibility of the FRSC in Anambra State by placing them on a central map. This will positively impact the community by reducing accidents and improving traffic compliance.
“To increase our visibility, we'll deploy officers throughout the state and put up new road signs. Even though we are not recruiting new staff, we will restructure our operations. These changes will be noticeable and beneficial to everyone.
“The policy thrust of the new Corps Marshall is to improve our operations by reviewing and evaluating them. That is why I am here in Anambra: to make our work more effective.
While I work with road users, as well as the state government and other agencies, to improve our services. We will pay attention to improving road conditions and addressing the problem of speeding.

She added that after the awareness of speed-limiting devices, motorists have been enforced to install the devices on their vehicles.
