The Federal Government has warned foreign countries against interfering in Nigeria's internal affairs, particularly regarding the ongoing protests against hardship in the country.

The warning came after reports of foreign flags being raised during protests in some northern states such as Kano, Kaduna and Zamfara and the arrest of some foreigners suspected of sponsoring the protests.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar stated that while Nigeria values cordial international al relationships, no nation tolerates foreign interference in its domestic affairs. He emphasized that the government will take appropriate action against any foreign entity residing in Nigeria found to have directly or indirectly supported the protesters.

Tuggar appealed for continued collaboration from the international community to support Nigeria's efforts in overcoming its current challenges and achieving a better future for all Nigerians.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris reaffirmed the government's support for peaceful assembly and freedom of expression, while pledging to investigate the violence and bring those responsible to justice.
