FCT NSCDC Sends 5,230 Personnel on Easter Deployment

For the Easter celebrations, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Capital Territory Command, Olusola Odumosu, has dispatched 5,230 personnel throughout the FCT to uphold peace and order during the Easter holidays.

This information was contained in a statement signed by the command spokesperson, Idoko Samuel, on Tuesday.

Due to the intelligence report of a potential attack in the FCT this season, Odumosu, who addressed principal officers in Abuja, stated that the command had deployed personnel for surveillance and intelligence gathering.

The command has also deployed special squads like the Armed Squad, Female Strike Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Special Crack Squad (operation Adaka-su), and Agro Rangers to ensure the preservation of law and order.

Odumosu emphasized the importance of avoiding carelessness and overzealousness when performing duties during this season, and it is crucial to strictly adhere to the operational order. Any harassment of innocent residents engaged in lawful activities will not be accepted.

He urges residents of the FCT to enjoy their holiday, with the assurance that the command will provide security in all places of worship, recreational centres, markets, shopping malls, motor parks, and other flashpoints during the holiday season.

He cautioned miscreants and vandals that the NSCDC personnel would not hesitate to enforce the full weight of the law on anyone caught or found culpable.
