The family of Foejiro Ojite, who was tragically killed in her apartment in the Agiliti area of Ketu, Lagos on July 27, 2023, have called on the police authorities to ensure that her killers face justice.

According to reports, her assailants not only took her life by slitting her throat but also set her apartment on fire. Neighbors discovered her lifeless body with her hand burnt when they forced open the door, prompting a police investigation.

An autopsy report from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital dated August 31, 2023, revealed that she died from "sharp force trauma to the neck."

Frustrated by the progress of the investigation, Foejiro's father, Michael Eroh, criticized the state police command and alleged that three suspects initially arrested in connection with the killing had been released.

Her husband, Ojite Tesywhite, also expressed dissatisfaction with the investigation, stating that the police's method of using a tracker to apprehend the suspect who transferred over N500,000 from her account was inadequate.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, promised to look into the case but had not provided an update as of the time of filing the report.

However, a senior police source in the state insisted that suspects in a murder case would not be released unless found innocent, emphasizing the seriousness of the matter.
