The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) yesterday, May 17, 2024, officially began the sale of  E-tags, which will allow access to all 24 federal airports in the country.

This information was published in a statement on FAAN's official X (formerly Twitter) account.

The statement claims that the selling of E-tags is in line with a presidential decree that was adopted at the most recent Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting and requires everyone using federal airports nationwide to pay tolls at the gates.

Furthermore, the statement stated that vehicles who do not have E-tags would be able to pay cash at the entrance gates before proceeding.

The announcement also included contact information and places for getting E-tags at Lagos and Abuja's international airports.

E-tags can be obtained by the general public at the Office of the Head of Department of Commercial Operations, located on the fifth floor of Terminal 1, Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, or by calling 08033713796 or 08023546030.

E-tags can also be obtained at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at the HOD Commercial Office in the General Aviation Terminal, or by calling 08034633527 or 08137561615.

Motorists with FAAN E-tags get a year's access to federal airport gates, whilst those without an E-tag must pay cash at the gates.

At the time of this report, the cost of each tag still remains unknown.
