A former lawmaker in the Abia State House of Assembly, Obinna Ichita, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to free the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, in the spirit of his administration’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Ichita also urged President Tinubu to initiate a programme that will culminate in a national dialogue for genuine reconciliation of differences to foster national unity, economic stability, and national security.

Ichita, in a press statement, affirmed that it would be in tune with the President’s 4-D diplomacy, which was most likely to yield a predictable outcome as discussions would replace agitations.

In the spirit of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda and in the interest of justice, I appeal to President Bola Tinubu to intervene and direct the commencement of processes for the release of all agitators, including Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the l People of Biafra.

While facilitating with President Tinubu the successful celebration of his one-year tenure as President of Nigeria, the ex-lawmaker prayed that under the present leadership, Nigeria will emerge as a prime investment destination and an indispensable player in the global field.

As Nigeria changes its national anthem, urge the government and the citizens to reflect on the wording of the national anthem so as to build a peaceful and prosperous homeland where no one is oppressed.

He also congratulated Governor Alex Otti of Abia State on the successful celebrations of his one year anniversary and prayed his government would jumpstart the economic development of Abia.
