Eight Arrested Over Murder of Police Officers in Delta

The Nigeria Police Force, through the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has announced that eight suspects have been apprehended in connection with the murder of officers on a fact-finding mission in Ughelli area , Delta State.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, Adejobi said that on February 23, officers on a fact-finding mission were ambushed, alongside others on a rescue mission, resulting in the deaths of six police officers.

According to Adejobi, the police conducted a thorough investigation before making the arrest.

He claims that three more individuals were captured at various locations after the initial five suspects were detained soon after the incident.

According to Adejobi, the suspects are being held by the police and are helping with the ongoing investigation.

The Nigeria Police Force, he added, is dedicated to making sure that everyone indicted for murder and other similar crimes is apprehended and prosecuted as soon as possible.

The police spokesman stated that after investigations, the accused would get their day in court with reliable evidence.

He stated that the Nigerian Police is greatly saddened by the horrific act of violence against police officers who were diligently carrying out their duty to protect and serve the community.

He added that the families of the fallen police are in their thoughts and prayers during this trying time. He restated that those who have murdered peace by killing our police in this current case and numerous others will not escape justice.
