
The EFCC, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission apprehended Owoseni Gabriel, who pretended to be a woman to escape arrest, and for allegedly engaging in computer related fraud.
The EFCC Spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed this in a statement in Abuja.
”Gabriel was arrested alongside Akinsanya Olamilekan, Olamofe Joshua, Salaudeen Hammed, Akindele Saheed, Patoki Ayomiku, Abiodun Olayinka, Olakunle Ismail, Afolabi Olaibola, Damilare Micheal and Babalola Ayomide.
”Others include, Kolawole Afeez, Samson Jeremiah, Makinde Oluwasegun, Daniel Seun, Owoseni Gabriel, Olusegun Emmanuel, Hammed Raheem, Micheal Tunde, Adefolahan Isreal, Olawore Micheal.
”The following are inclusive; Jesse Oluwatobiloba, Sulaimon Oladimeji, Adenekan Ayotunde, Kayode Sunday, Boluwatife Gbolahan Samuel Ogunyemi, Abdul-Fatai Olawale Adebayo Olarewaju, Daniel Owosine, Hassan Ayofe, Francis Chibundu and Qudus Adeyi.”
Uwajaren noted that they were arrested on 2nd May, at the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State, following credible intelligence received by the Commission on the activities of some young boys involved in computer-related fraud.
”During the sting operation, Gabriel, particularly, wore a female dress and a wig to escape arrest.
”Items recovered from the suspects include a Toyota Camry 2009 model, a Toyota Camry 2005 model, laptop computers and mobile phones.
”The suspects will be charged to court after investigations have been concluded.” Says the EFCC boss.
