Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has said that a specific legal document was seized from him by Department of State Services (DSS) agents.

Ejimakor claimed that on Monday, he brought a "critical" legal paper to Kanu for perusal at the DSS headquarters, but the secret police officers confiscated it and didn't give it back to him until he left.

This was disclosed by Kanu's attorney in a post on X announcing his meeting with the IPOB leader, who has been under the DSS's custody since June 29, 2021.

The IPOB attorney then declared that Kanu would not be tried for such offenses. In his words, “MNK will NEVER BE TRIED under violations like this. It’s not a court-martial. #FairHearing.”

The Federal High Court in Abuja refused Kanu's new application to be released on bail last Tuesday, pending the outcome of the treasonable felony case that the Federal Government has submitted against him.

Justice Binta Nyako ordered an expedited hearing of FG's seven-count accusation against him, refusing to grant the bail motion.

The trial was postponed to April 17 by Judge Nyako.
