

As the 8 Division Nigerian Army, Sokoto will begin inter-Brigade Range Classification Competition, army officials in Sokoto State have advised residents not to panic when they hear gunshots or see troops approaching.
The exercise will take place On Tuesday, August 8, at the Tankwale Village Shooting Range in Sokoto, for warrant officers and senior non-commission officers (SNCOs).
At the range located along Illela Road in Sokoto State, the drill will involve military movement and shooting of live ammunition.
The purpose of the range classification exercise, according to a statement made available to the media in Sokoto by Lieutenant Colonel Ikechukwu Eze, is to enhance the combat readiness, shooting techniques, and marksmanship of soldiers in the cadre of non-commission officers.
According to the release, Tankwale village residents and locals should avoid the general area of the shooting range while the drill is taking place.
The general public has been urged not to panic when they see troops near Illela Road in Sokoto State and the surrounding area.
