Twelve suspects have been paraded for various levels of offenses by the Delta State Police Command on Thursday. Among them was a 17-year-old boy (name withheld) who had staged his kidnapping in the Agbor region of the state.

Abaniwonda Olufemi, the state commissioner of police, paraded the accused at the police headquarters in Asaba, the state capital, and said that the teenager had already spent the ransom money before being taken into custody.

He said, a complaint regarding the possible kidnapping of a 17-year-old boy (name withheld) in Agbor-Obi's Okhumera quarter was received by the DPO Agbor Division on March 20, 2024.

The suspect forwarded a voicemail to his sister in which he claimed to have been abducted and that his captors were requesting N1 million. Based on technically generated intelligence, the DPO moved quickly to arrest three suspects.
