His educational odyssey took him through the halls of Christ Anglican Church School in Ijebu-Ife and the prestigious Ijebu-Ode Grammar School, where he laid the groundwork for a future marked by achievements.

His pursuit of knowledge extended beyond borders, with degrees in Accounting, Law, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from renowned institutions both in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Barrister Akin Doherty's commitment to professional growth is evident in his certifications as a Chartered Accountant, a certified Computer Systems' Auditor, and a distinguished list of fellowships and memberships in various professional bodies.

Otunba Akinsanya Doherty's professional journey spans 40 years, encompassing roles in financial services, risk management, marketing, and business administration. His seasoned expertise found expression in the public service, where he served as the Honourable pioneer Commissioner for Science and Technology and Commissioner for Finance in Lagos State during the tenure of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as Governor.
