Buhari Is Steadfast In His Job Creation Drive In The N/Delta-Umana

President Muhammadu Buhari is resolute in his commitment to resolving disparities and creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youths of the Niger Delta area, according to Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Mr. Umana Okon Umana.

According to a statement released on Sunday by Deworitshe Patricia, the Director of Press and Public Relations for the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana made this known at the launching of a Multi-Skills Vocational Development Center in Edo State.

The training facility was cited by the Minister as one of the benefits of the Infrastructure Agenda of the Muhammadu Buhari government by Engr. Olufunsho Adebiyi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.

According to Umana, who provided information on the empowerment policy and project implementation of the Buhari government through the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.

He said, “The project construction which was awarded in two phases, December 2020 and December 2021 respectively, was in pursuance of the Ministry’s mandate with the goal of training youths to acquire technical skills in the Niger Delta region that can be beneficial in transforming them into wealth and job creators”

“This commissioning is an eloquent testimony to the unwavering commitment of the Federal Government towards addressing the inequalities in the Niger Delta Region. I am certain that the construction which was handled by local and indigenous contractors has benefitted the communities through the employment opportunities created for the Youths.”

Umana added that the fully furnished and outfitted complex includes an ICT center, hair salons, studios for designing and making shoes, catering and carpentry workshops, an outdoor exhibition area, and auxiliary offices with conveniences.

According to the Minister, each of the nine states in the Niger Delta region is developing a similar center.

He commanded the facility's users to take care of it, maintain it, and make sure future generations may utilize it.

The Ministry's Director of Housing and Urban Development, Mr. O. M. Oluruntola, expressed his gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, and the Minister of State for the Ministry for their contributions to the project's success in a note of appreciation.
