The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has called on its members and affiliate unions to begin mobilising for a two-day nationwide protest on February 27 and 28 if the federal government fails to fulfil all agreements made with them in October 2023.

Comrade Joe Ajaero, President of the NLC, who addressed reporters at the end of the union's National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja on friday asked his members to be prepared for an indefinite strike, which would begin seven days after the nationwide protest if the federal government did not meet their demands.

The two-day nationwide demonstration will take place at the end of the 14-day ultimatum it set previously.

Ajaero, also highlighted that Labour was no longer interested in the government's empty promises but in action, and asked the administration to promptly execute the accord and restore trust in the democratic process as Nigerians struggled to make ends meet.

More details will be provided as events unfold..
