Body of 5 Workers Recovered From Collapsed Building in Abia

A construction site in Abia State, Nigeria, collapsed, trapping and killing five workers. The bodies of the deceased workers have been recovered by rescuers in Obingwu community, Ukwa West LGA of the state.

It was reported that the workers died after being buried under the rubble of a collapsed three-story building.

The cause of the collapse is under investigation, but witnesses from the community suspect that substandard materials may have been used.

The nationality of the workers is not confirmed, but some reports suggest they were from a West African country. The Abia State Police Command is yet to comment on the incident.
