Bobrisky Treated as Normal Inmate – NCS officials

Popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, is currently serving a six-month prison sentence at the Ikoyi Custodial Centre for abusing the naira.8

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos, while handing down the sentence to the convict on Friday, April 12, 2024, emphasized that the ruling would discourage others from abusing and mutilating the naira.

After the judgement, Bobrisky, who was taken into the Custodial Centre, was said to have been treated equally like other inmates.

A top official in the facility who spoke on the condition of anonymity to our correspondent, stated that the crossdresser was examined upon admission, and the examination outcome indicated that the convict had not undergone any realignment of genital organs or gender.

The source reported that Bobrisky publicly announced his male gender, and court proceedings are public records. During admission, every inmate is equally examined to ensure no realignment of gender or genital organ is required. Afterward, the source indicated that he was allocated a cell and bedspace, along with a certain number of inmates.

According to the source, the convicted crossdresser had been adhering to the rules and procedures of the facility. In response to claims that Bobrisky was receiving protection from abuse, the official stated that the facility does not tolerate any form of abuse by other inmates.

"He is not getting any five-star treatment, nor is he being shielded from anyone, and he adheres to the same rules and regulations as every other inmate. Single isolation cells are used to prevent outbreaks of communicable diseases. In a male prison, homosexuality is outlawed and it is a grievous offence", the source said.
