Bandits Strike Katsina Hospital, Injure Doctor and Abduct Five

In a troubling incident in Katsina State, armed bandits attacked the General Hospital in Kankara Local Government Area, resulting in the shooting of a medical doctor and the kidnapping of five individuals, including hospital staff.

The attack occurred around 7 PM, prompting panic among patients and healthcare workers as the assailants opened fire indiscriminately.

Dr. Murtala Dandashire, who was attending to patients at the time, sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and is currently receiving medical treatment. The Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the attack and is actively investigating the incident.

Simultaneously, in Kwara State, another distressing event unfolded as approximately ten gunmen kidnapped five residents from Odo-Eku community in Isin Local Government Area. Reports indicate that the abduction took place during the night when many were asleep.

The assailants reportedly fired shots into the air, which startled residents and led to a chaotic escape for safety.

Community leaders have identified the victims as local Hausa farmers, including a woman and her daughter, along with another visiting woman and two men.

In response to this alarming situation, local vigilante groups and security agencies have mobilized to search for the kidnapped individuals in nearby bush areas.
