Sola Fasure, media aide to former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola, has refuted claims by Sunday Akere, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) member, accusing Aregbesola of sabotaging Adegboyega Oyetola’s second-term bid. Fasure dismissed Akere’s allegations as “nonsense,” asserting that Akere and other Oyetola loyalists were only using Aregbesola’s name to seek relevance and federal appointments.

Fasure went on to declare that the APC in Osun was effectively defunct, sarcastically claiming that the party now consists of just three members: Akere, Kola Olabisi, and the state party chairman. He further accused Akere and others of misusing Oyetola for personal vendettas, creating unnecessary conflict around the former governor.

“They are the ones actually putting the former governor in crisis, turning him into a prisoner of power,” Fasure stated.

These remarks follow Akere’s allegation that Aregbesola had worked against Oyetola’s re-election and was leveraging him to challenge his estranged political mentor, President Bola Tinubu.
