The Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Victor Olabimtan, has expressed confidence that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will emerge victorious in the upcoming November 16 governorship election in Ondo State. Aiyedatiwa secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidacy after winning the party’s primary on April 20.
Olabimtan, who previously served as Speaker of the state House of Assembly, made these remarks during a meeting with APC leaders in Oka Akoko, the headquarters of Akoko South-West Local Government Area. The gathering was attended by several notable figures, including former lawmakers Gbenga Omole and Ade Adeogun, as well as Boye Ologbese, the Commissioner for Regional Integration and Diaspora Affairs.
During the meeting, Olabimtan urged party members to unite and work tirelessly to ensure a resounding victory for Aiyedatiwa and his running mate, Dr. Olayide Adelami, in the area. He highlighted Aiyedatiwa’s popularity among the candidates but cautioned against complacency.
Gbenga Omole, a former lawmaker and Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, pledged his full support for Aiyedatiwa's campaign. He praised the large turnout of party members at the meeting and encouraged them to maintain their strong backing for the candidate.
Ade Adeogun, who once represented Akoko South-West/South-East Federal Constituency, emphasized that the local government has a well-organized structure in place to ensure Aiyedatiwa’s success in the forthcoming election.
