Anambra State Demolishes Hotel Used as Kidnappers' Den
The government of Anambra State has demolished a kidnappers’ den concealed as a hotel along the Onitsha-Owerri road.
This was revealed in a press release shared on the Anambra State X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
The statement alleges that a hotel, known as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, also referred to as 'La Cruise Hotel,' was reportedly a hub for kidnappers and other criminal groups.
The press release added that the hotel has about 30 well-partitioned graves.
“Oba, Idemili South LGA! Demolition of kidnappers den disguised as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, AKA “La Cruise Hotel, along Onitsha-Owerri Road,” says the statement.
“The hotel has well-partitioned graves of over 30 on the last floor with a shrine!!”
Similarly, a video recording from the scene, which was seen by our correspondent, shows exhibits recovered from the facility, including well-partitioned graves of human beings discovered on the last floor of the hotel. A voice from the video noted that the exhibits have been handed over to the police.
The recent findings in Anambra State shed light on the continued prevalence of kidnapping and ritual killings in the southeastern region of Nigeria.
