Elder statesman and business magnate, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has donated a staggering ₦1.5 billion to aid flood victims in Maiduguri, Borno State as the state struggles with the aftermath of the devastating floods that recently ravaged parts of the capital city.
Dantata, accompanied by a delegation from Kano, visited the Government House in Maiduguri on Tuesday to express his condolences to Governor Babagana Zulum, the state government, and the people of Borno.
He conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to those who lost loved ones in the tragic event.
During the visit, Dantata lamented the deteriorating state of the economy in the country and urged the elites and political leaders to repent and fear God. He prayed for peace and harmony in Borno State and Nigeria as a whole.
Governor Zulum expressed his profound gratitude for Dantata's compassionate visit, acknowledging that it served as a beacon of hope and solidarity during this difficult time.
"The people of Borno deeply appreciate this show of magnanimity by a 96-year-old to visit us. Let me announce it, Our Baba has donated the sum of ₦1.5 billion to support the flood victims," Zulum stated.
This generous donation follows a similar act of kindness by Dantata's nephew, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who contributed ₦1 billion to support the flood victims in Borno State.
