The New Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Commissioner of Police, Mr Benneth Chinedum Igweh, has promised residents that the period of abduction and criminality will soon be a thing of the past. This is just as the command apprehended 19 suspected criminals along the Abuja-Abaji Expressway.

On his part, the command has mapped out tactics for their personnel to commence raiding hideouts of criminals.

The CP affirmed that items recovered from the suspected kidnappers included AK 47 rifles, pump action and clothes belonging to the victims.

He said, “the personnel apprehended suspected hoodlums in Wuse and Nyaya. We made a raid on the uncompleted building they were using and uncovered dangerous weapons from there.

“We posted some operatives of the tactical team to some schools and some communities in FCT which are the boiling points. We also carry out constant patrol and 48-hour monitoring for the protection of the people,” he uttered.

According to Igweh, the personnel of the FCT Police Command with other security agencies including vigilance groups and hunters have started tackling the robbers who come from neighboring states. We are waging war against them.

We need the cooperation of the members of the public to work together and imbibe community policing to flush out the hoodlums.
