Abducted Abia NIPR Chairman Regains Freedom

Felix Olunkwa, the chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Abia chapter, has been freed by his kidnappers a week after his abduction in Abia State.

It was gathered that Olunkwa's abduction occurred on May 24, 2024, while he was returning home from Alaoji mechanic village, Aba, where he had taken his uncle's car for repairs.

When Olunkwa didn't return home by 7 p.m. and attempts to find him failed, his wife alerted the police.

According to journalists, the abductors previously requested a ransom of N200 million but later reduced the ransom to N4 million.

A witness told journalists that the ransom was delivered Wednesday night, which resulted in Olunkwa’s release.
