A 49-year-old woman identified as Victoria Idowu allegedly hanged herself on a ceiling fan in her residence in the Magboro axis of the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to reports, her son discovered her lifeless body upon his return from a church service, prompting him to call the attention of their neighbours.
Also in the report, the police authorities were instantly informed of the tragic incident.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident, noting that no suicide note was found at the scene.
She affirmed that the law enforcement officers from the Ibafo Division were dispatched to investigate further.
She urged members of the public to always provide assistance to their loved ones who may be going through mental health challenges, stating that suicide is unlawful.
