A ceasefire deal with Israel will be declared in Qatar within the next few hours, a Hamas official stated on Tuesday.
Speaking with Xinhua, the official asked to remain anonymous.
The statement read, "The movement has delivered its response to the mediators, and we are close to reaching an agreement in the coming hours."
"The agreement will be announced in Qatar, and it may be soon, and its success is linked to the Israeli side," stated a second source close to Hamas.
The ceasefire deal, said the sources, would last for five days and would include the release of 50 civilians and foreign nationals held by Hamas in exchange for the release of 300 Palestinian detainees.
Among them would be women and children detained by Israel.
300 trucks carrying food, medicine, and fuel will be allowed to enter the Gaza Strip as part of the agreement.
The sources stated that the prisoners would be released gradually, with 10 Israeli prisoners being released for every 30 Palestinian prisoners each day.
