2 Terrorist Commanders Surrender To MNJTF In Lake Chad

The Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in the Lake Chad region have taken in two terrorist commanders as prisoners.

In a statement, Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief Military Public Information Officer, claimed that the two terrorists belonged to the Boko Haram faction of BaKoura Buduma.

According to Abdullahi, on Tuesday, the terrorists Ibrahim Muhammad and Auwal Muhammad, also known as Wanka, surrendered to the soldiers of Sector 3 MNJTF (Nigeria).

The MNJTF spokesman attributed the surrender to an increased kinetic and non-kinetic operation targeting terrorist cells within Sector 3 MNJTF.

The two, who were active commanders in the Lake Chad Islands, decided to give up under increasing pressure from continuous military actions.

The statement reveals that during the preliminary investigation, Ibrahim and Auwal Muhammad disclosed their long-standing allegiance with the faction and that they had operated with Kwallaram, on Lake Chad Island, for 15 years under the leadership of Bakoura Buduma.

He revealed that among the weapons turned up to the MNJTF were an AK-47 rifle, three magazines for the rifle, ninety rounds of 7.62mm special, one magazine carrier, and Ibrahim Mohammed's cell phone.

Auwal Mohammed Wanka turned himself in while holding an AK-47 rifle, five magazines, 101 7.62mm special bullets, a cell phone, a magazine carrier, two hand grenades, and a handheld radio.
