The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning regarding the activities of Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries, a faith-based organization in Delta State.

NAFDAC deemed these products as falsely advertised with having healing properties, have raised public health concerns.

Investigation Findings

NAFDAC initiated an investigation into the ministry's claims, particularly those relating to their "Miracle Water" and "Miracle Soap," after numerous petitions from concerned citizen.

The agency discovered that the ministry had been using a counterfeit NAFDAC registration number to mislead consumers into believing their products were safe and effective.

1. False Claims of Registration: Christ Mercy Land Delivery Ministries has been promoting its products as NAFDAC-registered, despite confirmation from NAFDAC that none of these products have undergone the necessary registration process.

2. Health Risks from Unregulated Products: The ministry's offerings include various types of "miracle" water, such as "River Jordan Water" and "The Miracle Water from The Pool of Bethsaida," sold at prices reaching ₦3,000 per bottle.

NAFDAC has found no scientific evidence supporting the claims of healing properties associated with these products, which could pose health risks to consumers.

3. Lack of Cooperation: During the investigation, officials from NAFDAC faced significant challenges in obtaining cooperation from the ministry's leadership.

Despite being invited for questioning, the ministry failed to comply, instead submitting requests for extensions and legal documents that delayed the investigation.

4. Illegal Production Partnerships: Further inquiries revealed that the ministry had clandestinely partnered with Globod Table Water, a local factory, to produce these products without NAFDAC's knowledge.

5. Public Advisory: NAFDAC has strongly advised the public against purchasing these unregistered products as it does not meet the agency's safety and efficacy standards.
