The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office announced on Friday that a residential building in the Agege area has been sealed off due to the absence of toilet facilities.

This action was confirmed by Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, through a post on his X account.

Wahab stated that this measure is part of ongoing efforts to promote a sustainable environment and ensure public health safety. He emphasized that the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office (LSWMO) is committed to proper sanitation practices.

The property, located on Adedosu Street in Otubu, Agege, was reported by concerned residents who filed a public complaint regarding its condition.

The bungalow, which contains over ten rooms, was found to have no toilet facilities and instead relied on dilapidated pit latrines filled with exposed faecal matter.

Wahab commended General Manager Adefemi Afolabi of the waste management office for leading the compliance team that undertook this inspection, highlighting the government's commitment to preventing potential health crises such as cholera outbreaks.
