Nestlé Nigeria has launched a new eco-friendly packaging for its Golden Morn cereal in order to promote sustainability and boost local economic development.

This announcement was made by Omofasa Orhiunu, Nestlé’s Category Manager for Dairy during the "Rebirth of the King of Breakfast" event in Lagos on Monday.

Orhiunu emphasized that the new packaging is not merely a cosmetic change but reflects Nestlé's commitment to supporting Nigerian farmers and minimizing its environmental impact.

He highlighted that the redesign underscores the company's dedication to sourcing ingredients locally, which enhances both the freshness and quality of the product while benefiting the Nigerian economy.

Boladale Odunlami, the firm’s commercial manager, added that investing in the local economy empowers farmers and fosters sustainable growth. He reiterated Nestlé's commitment to nourishing Nigeria and supporting its communities.

Victoria Uwadoka, Nestlé’s Lead for Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability, mentioned that the company is actively involved in initiatives that provide technical assistance and seed funding to farmers.

She stated that Nestlé's strategy focuses on three pillars: individuals, communities, and the planet, which are designed to create shared value across Nigeria.

Uwadoka also noted that the new recyclable packaging aligns with Nestlé's global goals to reduce environmental impact and promote a circular economy.

Furthermore, she highlighted the collaboration with the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University to empower young farmers through its agripreneur series, nurturing the next generation of innovative agriculturalists.
