A Nigerian journalist, editor, scholar, and lecturer, Laolu Akande, who was the spokesperson of ex-vice president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has disclosed that most radio stations in the United States (US) play Nigerian songs on a daily basis.

Akande made the disclosure on ‘Sunrise Daily’, a program on broadcast station Channels Television, on Monday, stating that it is an extraordinary achievement.

“It's rare to find a U.S. radio station that doesn't play Nigerian music every day.“ It’s a significant matter. It’s one of the reasons why they look up to us. Our music is all over the globe. All the radio outlets in New York play the latest music releases from Nigeria; that’s significant,” he asserted.

The seasoned reporter stressed that it is a remarkable achievement because it represents Nigeria in a good light.
