According to the Lagos Coroner Court, the most important aspect of an autopsy to determine the cause of the late singer Mohbad's death is being carried out in the United States of America (USA).
O. Akinde, the state counsel, informed Coroner Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi on Wednesday that the autopsy on the deceased's external body had been completed.
Akinde revealed the counsel's concerns to Mohbad's father, David Fadimu, David Nawoola of TNKay Music Worldwide, and O.S.A. Aranmolaran, representative of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikorodu.
The state counsel said, “The toxicology test, which has to do with the internal body, is being done in the US.”
Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the next day in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
Following the outpouring of grief that accompanied his death, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, ordered a forensic investigation to determine the cause of death.
In addition, based on the IGP's directive, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, assembled a 10-man team, including a pathologist, to exhume the singer's body and investigate his death.
