The Nollywood industry is in grief as it bids farewell to one of its comic actors, Amaechi Muonagor, who passed away yesterday, March 24, 2024.
It was gathered that the 62-year-old actor succumbed to complications arising from kidney-related ailments, diabetes, and a stroke.
The news of his death came a few days after a viral video in which the actor asked for financial support to help him have a kidney transplant surfaced online.
Mr. Emeka Rollas, Chairman, Actors Guild of Nigeria, could not be instantly reached for comments on the actor’s demise, as phone calls and texts made to his known line were not responded to on Sunday evening.
Also, according to the report, in 2023, Muonagor suffered a debilitating stroke, which led to partial paralysis of his left leg.
Since then, he has been battling health problems, undergoing weekly dialysis and physiotherapy in order to regain mobility and combat the effects of the stroke.
Throughout his career, Amaechi Muonagor graced the silver screen with his extraordinary talent and captivating performances. He endeared himself to audiences with his versatility, seamlessly portraying a wide range of characters with depth and authenticity.
A social commentator identified as Morris Monye, via his X handle, @Morris_Monye, while mourning the deceased, affirmed that help was raised to support him as he battled with health issues.
