

Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Bukola Elemide, professionally known as Asa, has mourned the death of her mother.
The singer shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday.
Asa described her mum as her biggest fan and revealed that she died from a brain tumour.
She wrote, “A sudden brain tumour came without warning and took you too soon. You were generous. The kindest soul”
The music star also recalled the bittersweet memory of her late mother’s unwavering devotion, stating that despite her limitations as a singer, nothing could dim her enthusiasm.
“You couldn’t hold a note to save your life, but you sang every one of my songs with your whole heart,” she wrote.
Asa signed off with a final farewell that captured both her grief and her gratitude: “Your strength, your love, your spirit will remain with me forever. Rest now, Mum,” accompanied by a broken heart and dove emoji.
Reacting to the news, many of her fans and celebrities, including singers Johnny Drille, Prospa Ochimana, Tiwa Savage, and Enioluwa, among others, flooded her comment section with condolence messages.
Singer Johnny Drille wrote, "I'm so, so sorry, Asa. I pray God comforts you and your family through this season.”
Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage, sharing her condolences, wrote: “May her soul rest in perfect peace.”
Also, popular Nigerian influencer Enioluwa shared his condolences, saying, "Sending you so much love! May her soul rest in perfect peace. Amen!”
Gospel singer Prospa Ochimana wrote, "My condolences. God rest her soul. God’s peace and comfort to the family.”
