Mabel Makun has confirmed that her marriage to comedian Ayodeji Richard Makun, aka AY, has ended.
Mabel, taking to her Instagram handle, revealed that her dream of a lifelong marriage has taken a different direction. She noted that many lies had been peddled against her, but she would opt for silence to honour her kids.
In her words, "I want to convey my sincere gratitude for the encouraging messages that I have received from everyone.
My silence should not be misinterpreted, and also, the father of my children, whom I have been with for some years, merits a certain level of respect and privacy from me and all the concerned parties. “Most importantly, because of our children, whose mental health and general well-being should be prioritised.
Many lies have been peddled against me and attacks orchestrated in the social media space, but I will honour my kids with my silence and not address any of these lies.
I’m dedicated to moving forward with grace and resilience. I have faith in a brighter future for both my children and me. Despite the rumours or opinions, I find solace in the belief that all will be well.
While it’s unforeseen for things to end this way, I swiftly request guidance from my faith as I step into this new chapter of life. However, as we navigate this change, I request your help in generating an atmosphere of respect and understanding. This is a challenging time, and I ask for privacy and consideration as we (my ex-husband and I) find our own path forward.
