Nigerian dancer, singer, and songwriter Anita Chukwumfumnaya Obidi, popularly known as Korra Obidi, was reportedly attacked in her Airbnb apartment in the United Kingdom with acid and a knife.
Korra affirmed that the attack occurred while she was in a livestream on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Obidi revealed this in a video posted on her Facebook and Instagram handles on Thursday.
She said, “My face is burning; can I have some coke to wash it, please?” Korra screamed as she groaned in pain.
The livestream footage reportedly captured her in distress, frantically washing her face with a Coca-Cola beverage, likely to neutralise the burning sensation of an acid attack.
However, as captured in the video, two uniformed officers arrived at the scene. One officer applied a liquid solution to her face, probably to reduce the pain, while the other officer could be seen spraying her back, likely administering first aid.
The singer pleaded with the public for any information that could identify and apprehend her attacker, while urging them to reach her via Korramanagement@gmail.com
Describing the assailant, Korra noted that it was a black female of about five feet in height. She further disclosed that she had been subjected to hateful comments in the past on social media, but the recent physical assault serves as a stark wake-up call.
