Jennifer Lopez has initiated divorce proceedings from Ben Affleck, as reported by multiple media outlets on Tuesday after two years after the couple rekindled their romance and married.
The divorce papers were filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, with reports confirming the couple had a prenuptial agreement in place.
Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, first met in 2002 while filming the critically panned movie "Gigli." Their initial relationship gained significant media attention which lead to an engagement in 2003 that was ultimately called off in early 2004.
After a lengthy separation, the couple reconnected in 2021, leading to their engagement announcement in April 2022 and a wedding in Las Vegas in July of the same year.
They later celebrated their marriage with a lavish ceremony in Georgia, attended by notable figures from the entertainment industry.
However, reports of marital difficulties began to surface earlier this year. Observers noted that Lopez celebrated her recent birthday without Affleck, and it was reported that the couple had sold their shared home, with Affleck moving into a separate residence.
