Ghanaian socialite Efia Odo has outlined her reasons for not dating poor men. She is well-known for her social activism and style of dating wealthy men.
Efia Odo believes that the reason impoverished men lack money is because they are lazy. "I have a poor allergy to impoverished males. Because I believe you won't spend on me, I'm an allegory for men who don't buy the bag. For me, being broke implies that a man isn't trying hard enough. You are lazy because there are so many opportunities to make money anywhere you go—in Ghana or America, for example," the speaker said.
A few years back, Efia Odo and her then-boyfriend had a public breakup when photos of him and his new girlfriend went online.
Aside from posting risque photos online, Efia Odo was one of the leading campaigners for the #fixthecountry movement. She later withdrew after allegedly receiving death threats from unknown men.
