Nigerian singer and record producer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, who is known professionally as Burna Boy, has been included in Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024.
It was gathered that legendary Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo added Burna Boy’s tribute to Time’s website.
She noted that the singer played a pivotal role in the global acceptance of African music.
Kidjo's words were: “Burna Boy has made that vision [acceptance of African music] a global reality. According to journalists, Burna Boy has also presently secured a coveted spot on Essence Magazine’s Sexiest Men of the Moment list. He was added on the list by British-Nigerian stars Skepta and Damson Idris.
The superstar rose to stardom in 2012 after releasing "Like to Party," the lead single from his debut studio album L.I.F.E. (2013). In 2017, he signed with Atlantic Records in the United States (and its parent company Warner Music Group internationally) to release his third studio album, Outside (2018).
