Osun Directs Schools to begin Recitation of New National Anthem

The Osun State Government has mandated that all public and private schools in the state begin reciting “Nigeria, We Hail Thee,” the reinstated old national anthem recently approved by President Bola Tinubu.

This directive was included in a statement signed by Murtala Jimoh, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and was obtained in Osogbo on Friday.

On Wednesday, Tinubu signed the National Anthem bill into law, reinstating the old national anthem "Nigeria, We Hail Thee."

According to the statement, Jimoh instructed that all schools in Osun State should start reciting the returned anthem during their morning assemblies.

The Permanent Secretary, through the statement, also urged all heads of schools in both private and public schools to ensure their pupils/students learn the Anthem and begin to sing it henceforth.
