The Ogun State Government has initiated a comprehensive rehabilitation project for its eight technical colleges, aiming to elevate them into premier vocational training centers.

This initiative is part of a broader strategy to standardize technical and vocational education within the state, equipping students with essential industry-relevant skills through the introduction of modern machinery and tools.

Mrs. Simbo Olayinka, the Communication Officer for the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP), which is financially supported by the World Bank, announced this development in a recent statement.

During an inspection of the rehabilitation efforts at the Government Science and Technical College in Ijebu Ode, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, the Commissioner for Finance and Chairman of the OGSTEP Project Steering Committee, praised both the quality and progress of the ongoing work.

Okubadejo emphasized that the government is committed to enhancing both physical infrastructure and human capital across various educational sectors.

He noted that the introduction of modern equipment and smart classrooms is designed to prepare students for global competitiveness while addressing the industrial workforce needs of Ogun State.

Furthermore, he highlighted that OGSTEP's initiatives extend beyond education, providing grants to support agriculture and business development.
