
The Lagos state government has issued a strong warning, emphasizing that there will be zero tolerance for any form of malpractices among students.
Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, released a statement on Wednesday, confirming that the examination would be conducted from Monday, July 3 to Saturday, July 8, 2023, at various centers in schools across the state.
Orunsolu urged all Principals of public and approved private Junior Secondary Schools in Lagos State to strictly adhere to the guidelines outlined for the examination's proper conduct.
The director emphasized the gravity of examination malpractices, firmly stating that no excuses would be accepted from any school found engaging in such misconduct.
Furthermore, he sought the continuous support and cooperation of all stakeholders involved for a successful and smooth-running examination process.
The Basic Education Certificate Examination serves as the primary qualifying test for admission into secondary and vocational schools. While in Ghana, the examination falls under the jurisdiction of the Ghana Education Service, supervised by the Ministry of Education, in Nigeria, it is conducted by the respective state Ministries of Education and overseen by the National Examinations Council.
